שופטים ושוטרים תתן כו’.
You shall put judges and watchmen at all your gates. (This is also referring to one’s personal growth, one need to constantly be aware what enters and leaves one’s self)
כמ”ש כבר להיות נשקל כל הרגש שבאדם.
As has been written that one needs to always measure one’s feelings
תנועה גדולה וקטנה.
Whether it is a large or small action
במשפט אמת.
It needs to always be weighed up in a true scale
ובחי’ שופטים הוא בשכל האדם.
The “judges” is referring to the intellect
ושוטרים לבטל כל השכל והחכמה עבור ציווי השי”ת ע”י יראה בחי’ שוטר.
The “watchmen” is one’s control, that one’s intellect and knowledge should be subjected to the command of HaShem, through fear of Him, which is the idea of a watchman. (One can be very intelligent and yet use all of that intellect for base desires, just as an animal uses all of its instinct and may do very clever things yet it is all completely under the influence of his animal desires)
ובאמת ע”י המשפט בדעת יכולין לבא להשגה זו להיות בטל הדעת ג”כ עבור רצונו ית’ כנ”ל:
The truth is that through the scale of truth with da’as -deep understanding, one can reach a level of comprehension where one’s knowledge is also nullified to the will of HaShem, as explained above.
