צדק צדק תרדוף.
You should surely chase righteousness
שאין חקר וסוף לבחי’ צדק ואמת.
The double expression of the word tzedek twice teaches us that there is no end to the depth of righteousness and truth. That even when a person reaches a level of truth, one needs to penetrate it further and find a deeper level of truth. And then even deeper
כי ה’ אלקים אמת.
For HaShem’s signature is truth
ולכך לעולם יש להוסיף ולהעמיק שיהי’ אמת לאמיתו.
Therefore in order to attain this trait we need to emulate HaShem in His traits. One cannot completely attach oneself to HaShem for He is an all consuming fire, rather we need to attach ourselves to His traits And we need to continue persuing the truth in order to attain the real truth
כי אינו אמת עד שנעשה כל האדם אחד מיוחד לעבודתו ית’
For one has not attained real truth until one becomes completely and wholly a part of the service of HaShem
ואמת מראש עד סוף אותיות התורה.
And the word אמת truth, is from the beginning to the end of the Torah. א is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet מ is the middle letter and ת is the last letter, for this is the foundation of everything
בשם הרב הק’ מפרשיסחא היהודי ז”ל להיות רדיפת הצדק. בצדק לא בשקר. ודפח”ח:
The Rav of Pershisca would say, that one needs to chase righteousness, righteously and not through falsehood. Meaning that many times we want to do a mitzva etc, however this too needs to be done truthfully to check that there is no falsehood in the actions.
The letters שקר falsehood have no feet, they all have pointed bottom and therefore cannot last, however all the letters in the word אמת have a solid base for only truth lasts.
