Korach
The Midrash (Bamidbar Rabbah 18:1) brings the following pasuk in regards to Korach: (Mishlei 18:19) “A brother offended is harder to win over thn a defended city”
It was Korac who sinned and rebelled with the actual power that he gained through Moshe. For it was Moshe that affected the holiness that was given to Klal Yisrael to become holy, just as Moshe was holy.
(Korach took this power) and rebelled. As the pasuk states (Bamidbar 16:1) “And Korach took” (Onkelos explains this to mean) “He separated himself” (and rebelled). As the Zohar states (3:177a) “He took for himself”.
For someone who is completely nullified to the power and life force of HaShem has nothing to take for himself (he is a part of it all, and not separated out)
It was because he separated himself that caused him to lose his greatness.
For each person needs to strengthen himself with the life force he gets from HaShem. As it states (Tehillim 84:6) “his strength is in Him”. Furthermore it states (Yeshaya 26:7) “If they would hold My fortress, they will make peace to me, peace will be to me”
For it is through doing so that one clarifies the inner life force, and connects himself to HaShem. For He is the source of life and it is drawn from HaShem to all of creation, this is the idea of Shalom, and the idea of Shabbos, as above.
