Vayehsev תרל”ג 3
וימאן ויאמר כו’ הן אדוני כו’ ולא חשך כו’ כי אם אותך כו’ את אשתו כו’.
(Bereishis 39:8-9) (See Above) “But he refused. He said to his master’s wife, “Look, with me here, my master gives no thought to anything in this house, and all that he owns he has placed in my hands. He wields no more authority in this house than I, and he has withheld nothing from me except yourself, since you are his wife. How then could I do this most wicked thing, and sin before HaShem?”
יש ללמוד מזה איך להשמר מיצה”ר ע”י ישוב הדעת שהקב”ה מסר הכל. לרשות האדם. אף כי הי’ ברשותו שלא להיות כח לאדם לעשות נגד רצונו. רק בטובו מסר הכל להאדם רק שיקבל האדם על עצמו עול מלכותו ית’.
We can learn from here how to prevent oneself from the influence of the evil inclination, through careful consideration that HaShem has given the ability to choose anything, into man’s hands. Even though HaShem has the power to prevent a person from going against His will nevertheless through His infinite goodness He gives a man that choice so that he will accept upon himself the yoke of heaven.
ומזה עצמו צריך ליפול בושה על האדם שלא יוכל לעשות נגד רצון הקב”ה רק לעשות הכל לש”ש לברר שמלכותך מלכות כל עולמים כנ”ל. והבן.
Ans through this a person should become humbled and not go against the will of HaShem and rather one should do everything for the sake of heaven to ascertain that His Kingdom is the Kingdom of the entire creation.
וישוב הדעת הנ”ל בא ע”י שוימאן מקודם בלי טעם וימאן ויאמר כנ”ל:
And this careful consideration comes about by first refusal without any understanding and consideration. As we see by Yosef he first refused her advances and then said the above statement.
