vayehsev תרל”ד 3

נראה כי יוסף זכה ע”י המכירה שנתבזה מהשבטים ויפשיטו כו’. וע”י שלא הרהר אחר השם ית’ והאמין כי הכל לטובה. עי”ז וינס ויצא החוצה.
It would seem that when Yosef was sold as a slave and degraded when his brothers removed his clothing, By not losing faith in HaShem and realising that everything is for the good. He merited that later he was able to run out of Potiphar’s house without his clothing.
שהי’ לו סיוע שיוכל לבזות עצמו עבור רצון הבורא ית’.
For the previous experience helped and trained him to be able to degrade himself for the sake of HaShem.
ויש ללמוד הרבה ממעשיות הללו שבתורה. איך לקבל כל הנהגות השי”ת בשמחה ואהבה.
These actions of Yosef should teach us many things, in how he accepted the way of HaShem with happiness and love.
כי הוא נורא עלילה כו’.
“For He is held in awe” (Tehillim 66:5)
וענין מכירת יוסף נראה כי הי’ לפלא בעיני השבטים איך הבדיל יוסף עצמו ואחד עשר כוכבים כו’ הלא י”ב שבטי י”ה הם.
The whole idea of selling Yosef was a wonder in the eyes of his brothers. How can Yosef separate himself and say eleven stars were bowing down to him, they were all aware that there were supposed to be twelve tribes of HaShem?
ובאמת אין פתרון לדבר זה.
And the truth is that there is no explanation for this
אך השי”ת מסבב מסיבות שנעשו ב’ בניו שבטים מנשה ואפרים. ושבט לוי נמנה בפ”ע.
However HaShem causes all effects and what happened in the end was that actually both of Yosef’s children Menashe and Efraim were considered tribes on their own and Levi was counted separately.
והכל הי’ אז בלי פירוש.
However at the time none of this could be comprehended
ויוסף נתעלה באמת שלא הי’ בכלל השבטים כמ”ש נזיר אחיו:
And indeed in the end Yosef was separate and was above as his brothers and not counted as one of the tribes. As it says “He was a crown unto his brothers” (Bereishit 49:26).
