“In the verse: ‘Everyone whose heart is generous shall bring the offering of the Lord.’”

The Sefat Emet begins by focusing on the Torah’s emphasis on generosity of heart as the source of the offering.

“This means to bring the offering together with all the generosity within him.”

The donation is not only an act but must carry the full inner measure of a person’s generosity.

“To place all the desire of the heart into this offering.”

One’s entire inner will should be invested in the act of giving, making the donation an expression of the heart’s deepest intent.

“Another explanation: that through this donation they brought all the offerings of their hearts, for the donation to the Mishkan was a repair for all desires.”

The giving toward the Mishkan served as a spiritual rectification, harmonizing and elevating all scattered desires within the people.

“Through this donation they would bring all the offerings of their hearts, as stated above.”

This act became the channel through which every inner generosity and desire could be expressed and aligned toward holiness.

Summary: The Sefat Emet teaches that the Mishkan donation was not a mere physical offering but a vessel for the entirety of one’s inner will, allowing all desires and forms of generosity to be elevated and unified.
