אא”ז מו”ר ז”ל פי’ הפסוק ואעידה בם כו’ השמים ואת הארץ כי בנ”י מבררין כי כל הבריאה מהשי”ת כו’.
The Chidushei Harim explained the pasuk (Devarim 31:28) “…and I will make the heavens and earth bear witness against them”, this is because Bnei Yisrael are the one’s that clarify and are known that the entire creation is only from HaShem. (see above Vayelech תרל”א)
ובמד’ נצבים ויציבני כמטרה לחץ משל לגבור שהעמיד קורה וזרק בה חצים כו’.
The Midrash explains the word “Nitzavim” – standing, that Bnei Yisrael stands like a target. This can be compared to a warrior who places a beam as a target into which he throws his spears.
כי בנ”י נבראו להיות כחומה להגין ולבטל כחות החצוניות והקליפות. [נצבים כמ”ש באדום נציבים כו’ שהוא אנשים השומרים ומגנים]:
The explanation is that Bnei Yisrael were created to be a wall to guard and protect the external forces and powers. (They are therefore the first row of defence).
[The word Nitzavim is an expression to describe people who guard and protect, as it says (Shmuel 2 8:14) “He stationed garrisons – נציבים in Edom”].
