Vayelech

(Devarim 29:10: The children were also brought to stand and hear Moshe’s Final words. Gemara Chagigah 3a, explains that the reason why the children were brought was) “to give reward to those that brought them”.
Now this is seemingly difficult from either perspective. If there is no benefit to the children, why then are those that brought them rewarded? (What gain was there to be rewarded for?)
Rather we must explain that regarding the children (even though they do not actually gain any extra understanding in the conventional sense by coming. However there) they certainly can gain a light of their souls through the Torah, as the verse says “You are standing here to say, children etc”. (This implies that there was a gain, just it is not something that is tangible)
Now everything needs Man to put his input – awakening- hisorerus (to cause an effect), nevertheless HaShem has promised us that the TOrah shall never be forgotten from the mouths of our children. This means that each and every Jew can find the light of Torah and prayer in his mouth (in himself, a person’s mouth is in his jurisdiction).
However as a rule man can only do the initial bit, but without HaShem the action that he wants to do cannot be completed. So too the mitzvos and effort that man expends is all from HaShem as is written: “from you is everything”. However man certainly has some input, this is his desire and awakening
Furthermore the Mishna (Avot 4:2) says that the reward for a mitzvah is a mitzvah. (The simple understanding is that the reward one gets from doing one mitzvah is the opportunity to do another mitzvah. This can also be understood as follows:) The reward that HaShem gives a person for a mitzvah. Which means when a person does his part which he is able to do i.e. He has an awakening and a desire to do a mitzvah, then HaShem rewards him that he actually is able to do a mitzvah.
This therefore explains the difficulty with that the gemara had: Why are the children brought? Meaning the children do not have any desire that they are awakening to serve HaShem, and if so what rewardcoul they possibly be given? The answer is that since the parents have expended effort in the children, and the parents have a desire to continue their children’s education to serve haShem, the reward for this desire is that HaShem continues the process and draws His light into the children.
This concept applies (not only to children, but also) to simple people in Bnei Yisrael who are lacking proper understanding and desire. But nevertheless through nullifying themselves to those that are greater and better than them, the desire of the tzadik can affect them to be a reward to those that cling to the tzadik.
So too any time a person has an intense desire, he should give that over to the general populace. For one should certainly have more desire for something that is done as a part of the entire nation as opposed to something done for his individual self.
And through this (desire of wanting to be a part of the klal), HaShem accepts the desire as a part of Klal Yisrael. (Klal Prat Klal)
According to what we have just explained, we can delve and find a deeper true understanding of the words: “To give reward to those that bring them” , yet it is not given to be written and “Knowledge comes easy to an understanding man (Mishlei 14:6)
