בזוה"ק בפ' וכל חכם לב כו' יבואו ויעשו.

In the Zohar, on the section “And every wise-hearted one… they shall come and make.”

The Sefat Emet cites the Zohar to introduce two dimensions of divine service hinted in the construction of the Mishkan.

דאית פולחנא דעובדא ופולחנא דרוחא עבדי אתה כו' אשר בך אתפאר ע"ש.

There is a service of action and a service of spirit: “My servant you are… in whom I glory.”

The Zohar distinguishes between serving God through deeds and serving Him through inward spirit; both are implied in the verse.

כי בוודאי לא הי' חכמת עושי המשכן באומנות ידים בלבד.

For certainly the wisdom of the builders of the Mishkan was not in manual craftsmanship alone.

Their greatness was not limited to physical skills but included inner spiritual depth.

כדכתיב כמה פעמים חכמי לב.

As it is written several times, “wise of heart.”

This phrase stresses inner wisdom rather than mere technical talent.

ועיקר הי' הפנימיות כמ"ש לחשוב מחשבות לעשות.

And the essence was the inwardness, as it says: “to devise thoughts to perform.”

Their work began in deep contemplation, which then guided the outward act.

להעלות המעשה להמחשבה.

To elevate the deed into the realm of thought.

The purpose of craftsmanship was to lift physical action toward spiritual intention.

וז"ש עבדי אתה הוא בעובדא.

Thus, “My servant you are” refers to action.

This phrase corresponds to service expressed through concrete deeds.

אשר בך אתפאר הוא ברוחא ובמחשבה כדכ' בך.

“In whom I glory” refers to spirit and thought, as it says “in you.”

Here the Torah points to the inner life that brings God glory.

וז"ש חכם לב בכם יבואו ויעשו שיהי' העבודה מלבר ומלגאו.

Thus “wise of heart among you shall come and make”—meaning the work must be both external and internal.

True service unites deed and intention, outside and inside.

גם ע"י שהעבודה במעשה הי' כראוי לשמו ית' לכן נתקיים אחר כך אשר בך אתפאר.

And because the work in action was fitting for His Name, therefore “in you I glory” was fulfilled afterward.

When deeds are pure, divine glory becomes manifest through them.

וזכו במעשיהם שישרה השכינה במעשה ידיהם.

And they merited, through their deeds, that the Shekhinah would dwell in the work of their hands.

The sanctity of intention drew God’s presence into physical reality.

וכן הוא בכל עבודת ימי המעשה מתקיים בש"ק אשר בך אתפאר.

And so it is in all the labor of the weekdays: on Shabbat “in you I glory” is fulfilled.

Weekday actions gain their spiritual elevation on Shabbat.

לכן צריכין לקשט המעשים בימי המעשה לזכור ביום השבת כענין המשל שכתוב במדרשים.

Therefore one must adorn the deeds of the weekdays in remembrance of Shabbat, as in the parable in the Midrashim.

Our weekday efforts must be refined in anticipation of Shabbat’s revelation.

מה שאתה יכול לקבוע אבנים טובות קבע שעתידה ליתן בראשה של מלך.

“Whatever precious stones you can set—set them, for they will be placed in the crown of the King.”

Each good deed becomes a jewel in the divine crown, especially revealed on Shabbat.

והעיקר הוא ההכנה בעוה"ז לעוה"ב שכולו שבת שאז יתקיים אשר בך אתפאר.

And the essence is that this world prepares for the World to Come, which is entirely Shabbat; then “in you I glory” will be fully realized.

All earthly labor is preparation for the eternal Shabbat, when inner glory is complete.

ובש"ק יש מעין זה:

And on Shabbat there is a taste of this.

Shabbat offers a preview of that future wholeness.

The Sefat Emet teaches that the Mishkan required both outer action and inner intention. True service unites deed and thought, and Shabbat elevates weekday labor. All of life is preparation for the eternal Shabbat, when divine glory is fully revealed.
