Israel Crowning Divine Kingship
ומאמר אנכי ה' אלקיך הוא קיים לעד.
“And the statement ‘I am the Lord your God’ endures forever.”

כי איננו ציווי כמו לא יהי' לך ושאר הדיברות.
“For it is not a command like ‘You shall not have’ and the other commandments.”

כי זה מאמר הש"י שהוא מיוחד להיות אלקי ישראל.
“For this is a statement of the Holy One, uniquely declaring Himself to be the God of Israel.”

ולכן כ' לא יהי' לך אלהים אחרים על פני.
“Therefore it is written: ‘You shall have no other gods before Me.’”
Because God has already declared His bond with Israel, the prohibition of other gods follows naturally.
פי' כיון שבכל אופן אני אלקיכם.
“Meaning, since in every circumstance I am your God.”
This relationship is unbreakable and constant.
לכן יותר צריכין לשמור עצמם כמ"ש המכעיסים אותי על פני.
“Therefore you must guard yourselves even more, as it says: ‘those who anger Me before Me.’”
The intimacy of the bond increases responsibility.
ומלכותו ית' הוא נמסר ביד בנ"י.
“And His blessed kingship is placed in the hands of the Children of Israel.”
Israel reveals God’s kingship in the world.
פי' כפי מה שהם מקבלין ע"ע עול מלכותו ית'.
“Meaning: according to the extent they accept upon themselves the yoke of His kingship.”
The more Israel accepts divine rule, the more it is manifested.
כמו כן נתגלה כבוד מלכותו על כל הנבראים.
“So is the glory of His kingship revealed to all creatures.”
Human acceptance enables cosmic revelation.
שאלקותו ית' נמשך לכל ע"י בנ"י.
“For His divinity extends to all through Israel.”
Israel serves as the channel through which divine presence spreads.
וז"ש אנכי ה"א כו'.
“And this is the meaning of ‘I am the Lord your God.’”

וכ' ואתם תהיו לי ממלכת כהנים כו'.
“And it is written: ‘And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests.’”

כמשל שרים גדולים שהם מעמידים את המלך.

כן כביכול בנ"י הם ממליכים אותו ית"ש על כל הנבראים.
“So too, as it were, Israel crowns Him over all creation.”
Through Israel’s service, divine sovereignty extends to all beings.
וכפי מה שקיבלו בנ"י עמ"ש במתן תורה כן הי' בכלל הבריאה.
“And according to what Israel accepted at Sinai, so it was embedded in creation.”
The covenant at Sinai shapes the world itself.
וכמ"ש בגמרא שגם האומות יודעין כי הקב"ה שליט על הכל וקראן לי' אלקי דאלקיא.
“As the Talmud says: the nations also know that God rules all, calling Him ‘the God of gods.’”
Even the nations recognize divine sovereignty.
ולכן ניתקן כלל הבריאה.
“Therefore the whole of creation became rectified.”
Recognition of God contributes to cosmic harmony.
לבד עמלק ימ"ש שלא הכניע עצמו.
“Except for Amalek, who did not submit himself.”
Amalek represents complete refusal of divine truth.
ולכן לא יהי' לו תקומה לעתיד.
“Therefore he will have no standing in the future.”
Ultimate reality leaves no place for absolute denial.
ולכל האומות יהי' איזה ניצוץ ואחיזה בקדושה.
“But all other nations will have some spark and connection to holiness.”
Other nations retain potential for rectification.
וז"ש ראשית גוים עמלק.
“And this is the meaning of ‘Amalek is the first of nations.’”
Amalek took the ‘first’ in the sense of opposing God from the root.
פי' שלקח לו הראשית שכפר לגמרי בעיקר.
“Meaning he took for himself the beginning, denying the very root.”
Amalek embodies fundamental negation.
ולכך אחריתו עדי אובד.
“Therefore his end is utter destruction.”
Complete denial leads to complete dissolution.
משא"כ שאר האומות כנ"ל.
“Unlike the other nations, as stated above.”
Others retain redeemable aspects.
ולכן צריכין לשנוא את עמלק.
“Therefore we must hate Amalek.”
The hatred is for the idea Amalek represents: total rejection of the divine.
כי לולא הוא הי' ניתקן הכל כראוי כמו לעתיד.
“For were it not for him, everything would have been fully rectified, as it will be in the future.”
Amalek is the obstacle to complete harmony.
ועל ידו אין הכסא שלם כו'.
“And because of him, the throne is not complete.”
The divine kingship remains partially obscured.
לכן מחה אמחה כו'.
“Therefore: ‘I shall surely blot him out.’”
Erasing Amalek means removing the force that denies God’s presence.
