Divine Blessing Through the Omer
Omer · Divine Providence · Torah · Jewish Holidays · Redemption
It is stated in the Gemara: “Bring before Me the Omer on Passover so that the grain in your fields will be blessed.”
The Sefat Emet begins with the teaching that the Omer‑offering is the channel for blessing to the year’s produce.
Beloved are Israel before the Holy One, for He entrusted them with the secret and root of all things through their proper times and festivals.
Israel receives the inner spiritual structure of time.
As it is written: “A wise heart knows time and judgment.”
True wisdom is knowing the alignment of sacred time with divine judgment.
And regarding this it is said: “Happy are you, O land, whose king is noble, and whose princes eat at the proper time.”
The “proper time” is the spiritual moment aligned with divine justice.
At the time specifically designated for this.
The Torah gives Israel exact windows for receiving divine flow.
For certainly God acts with kindness in every generation.
Divine benevolence is constant.
But the righteous merit to receive everything through judgment, for they are truly free.
The righteous elevate even strict judgment into structured divine flow.
Therefore of the nations it says: “Woe to you, O land, whose king is a youth, and whose princes eat in the morning,” which is a time of kindness and alludes to Sukkot, when seventy bulls are offered for the seventy nations.
Sukkot represents universal kindness granted even to the nations.
Therefore it is associated with rain, for the Gemara teaches that all rejoice on a day of rain, for it is God’s kindness that covers all.
Rain symbolizes universal divine generosity.
And the Midrash says: “A rain of generosity”—if it is rain, it requires offerings, for it is kindness.
Rain depends on the world’s merit.
But if it is dew, it needs only that God “lifts it.”
Dew is a higher, constant form of divine flow.
This aspect is unique to Israel, and appears on Passover, which is kindness hidden within judgment and righteousness.
Passover contains concealed loving‑kindness wrapped in divine justice.
And even the left side becomes right for Israel, as explained.
Judgment sweetens into kindness for Israel.
This is the waving of the Omer, as it is written: “And the priest shall wave the Omer.”
The waving elevates harshness into blessing.
Therefore rain has specific times, but dew never ceases, for Israel receives flow even during judgment, which turns for them into kindness.
Dew symbolizes unbroken, sweetened divine influx.
Thus it says “with strength,” not “with two,” and the Sages interpret this as the strength of Torah.
Torah channels divine might.

If you want, I will continue with the next block.]The Sefat Emet teaches that the Omer reveals Israel’s unique capacity to sweeten judgment into kindness through Torah and sacred time, preparing blessing for the entire year.
