Bnei Yisrael as the vessel revealing creation
Simchas Torah · maaseh bereishis · reishis · keli · vision
The Torah continues directly from "before the eyes of all Yisrael" (Devarim 34:12) to "In the beginning [Hashem] created" (Bereishis 1:1).
The end of the Torah connects seamlessly to its beginning on Simchas Torah, linking "the eyes of all Yisrael" with the account of creation.
For "Hashem founded the earth with wisdom" (Mishlei 3:19).
The world was established through the wisdom of the Torah, which is the blueprint of creation.
And the work of creation is a sealed riddle.
The inner meaning of creation is hidden, a mystery that must be deciphered.
Through the Torah, which is called "reishis" (first), and through Bnei Yisrael, who are called "reishis," the inner dimension of creation is clarified.
Both Torah and Bnei Yisrael are named "reishis," and together they reveal and clarify the hidden penimiyus within the work of creation.
Therefore "le'einei kol Yisrael" (before the eyes of all Yisrael) forms the acronym "keli" (vessel), for they are the vessel through which the meaning of the work of creation is clarified.
The initial letters of "Le'einei Kol Yisrael" spell "keli" — Bnei Yisrael are the instrument that brings out the hidden explanation of creation.
And every individual of Yisrael has a unique perception, by which he can see and grasp a particular matter in the world that no one else is able to see.
Each Jew is granted his own distinct insight into creation, perceiving a detail of Hashem's world that is his alone to reveal.
The final letters of "Le'einei Kol Yisrael" add up to seventy.
The last letters of those words have the gematria of seventy, alluding to the seventy nations and seventy faces of Torah.
For all the seventy nations are unable to see the aspect of the work of creation — "they have eyes but do not see" (Tehillim 115:5).
The seventy nations cannot perceive the inner reality of creation; their vision is outward only, as the verse says of idols, "eyes they have but see not."
This is the meaning of "He told the power of His deeds to His people" (Tehillim 111:6) — to them belongs the opening of the eye.
Hashem granted Bnei Yisrael alone the open eye to perceive the power within His works of creation.
As it is written, "Lift up your eyes on high and see" (Yeshayahu 40:26) — that all seventy modes of vision of the seventy languages,
There are seventy ways of seeing, corresponding to the seventy nations and tongues, each a window onto creation.
all of them were given to Bnei Yisrael, as it is written, "to give them the inheritance of nations" (Tehillim 111:6).
All seventy modes of perception belong to Bnei Yisrael, who inherit the full vision that the nations cannot attain.
Summary: On Simchas Torah the Torah's end rejoins its beginning, for the world was founded on the wisdom of the Torah, and the work of creation is a sealed riddle. Both Torah and Bnei Yisrael are "reishis," and the acronym of "le'einei kol Yisrael" spells keli (vessel): Bnei Yisrael are the instrument that clarifies the inner meaning of creation. Each Jew has his own unique perception, and while the seventy nations have eyes that cannot see the inner reality, all seventy modes of true vision are the inheritance of Bnei Yisrael.
