In the Midrash: "Fair is the conversation of the servants of the Avos…"

The Sefas Emes opens with the Midrash that praises the "talk" of the servants of the Avos — Eliezer's lengthy account of finding Rivkah — as more beloved than the Torah of the later generations.

For behold, Avraham Avinu, peace be upon him, is the very essence of blessing, and he is the way of the Torah, which began from Avraham Avinu — the "two thousand years of Torah."

Avraham is "the blessing" itself, and he is the embodiment of the path of Torah; Chazal count the "two thousand years of Torah" as beginning with him, for he initiated the avodah of serving Hashem in the world.

But concerning Eliezer it is brought: because he served that tzaddik faithfully, he went out from the category of "cursed" into the category of "blessed"; and "whatever leaves the general rule to teach, teaches about the entire rule."

Eliezer, a descendant of Canaan (who was cursed), rose through his faithful service to Avraham from "cursed" to "blessed." And by the principle that an exception which "leaves the rule to teach" illuminates the whole rule, Eliezer's path teaches something for everyone.

And he prepared this path — how to go out from the category of "cursed" to "blessed."

Eliezer paved a road that anyone can follow: by faithfully attaching oneself to a tzaddik and his Torah, one can lift oneself out of the "cursed" state and into blessing.

And they said of him that he would "draw up and give to drink" from the Torah of his master to others; and this tikkun is great in quantity but small in quality.

Eliezer's avodah was to "draw and pour" — to convey his master Avraham's Torah onward to others. This kind of rectification works by breadth rather than depth: it spreads blessing widely (great in quantity) even though it is not the most lofty inner level (small in quality) — yet precisely this is the path by which even the "cursed" can become "blessed."

Summary: Avraham Avinu is the essence of blessing and the source of the "way of Torah." Eliezer, though descended from the cursed, rose to "blessed" through faithful service to a tzaddik, and thereby paved a path anyone can take out of "cursed" into "blessed." His avodah was to "draw and pour" Avraham's Torah to others — a tikkun great in quantity though modest in quality, which is exactly why his "conversation" is so beloved.
