הם שלשה תיקונים במעשה דיבור ומחשבה.

These are three rectifications in action, speech, and thought.

Tefillin aims to align all human faculties with divine purpose.

שנתן לנו הקב"ה מצות איך לתקן מדו"מ להבדילם מהבלי עולם.

God gave us mitzvot to rectify deed, speech, and thought, separating them from worldly vanity.

Mitzvot elevate human expression above mundane distraction.

ולקשרם בתורת ה'.

And to bind them to the Torah of God.

All faculties are meant to attach to Torah through these practices.

ובתפילין עצמם יש בחי' בתים וד' פרשיות וכ"א אזכרות כידוע שהם ג' שמות אהי' והוי' ואדנות.

Tefillin have houses, four passages, and holy names—specifically the three names Ehyeh, Havayah, and Adnut.

The structure of tefillin reflects layered divine energies.

והבתים הם במעשה.

The houses correspond to action.

The physical casing symbolizes sanctified behavior.

וכתיבות הפרשיות כתיבה כדיבור.

The written passages correspond to speech.

Writing is an extension of expressed words.

והשמות הם במחשבה.

The divine names correspond to thought.

Names of God reflect inward consciousness.

ובכח זו המצוה יכולין לתקן מעשה דיבור ומחשבה.

Through this mitzvah one can rectify action, speech, and thought.

והם בחי' נפש רוח נשמה.

These correspond to nefesh, ruach, and neshamah.

The three soul levels align with the three human faculties.

ואחז"ל הוקשה התורה כולה לתפילין.

והם מסילות בלבבם.

כמ"ש לשעבד בזה תאוות ומחשבות לבנו.

To subdue the desires and thoughts of the heart through them.

פי' התורה נעלמה מעין כל חי.

The Torah is hidden from all living eyes.

The deepest Torah cannot be perceived directly.

אבל הקדוש ב"ה נתן לנו מצות לסייע לנו.

But God gave us mitzvot to help us.

Mitzvot serve as entry points to the hidden Torah.

למצוא על ידיהן דרכים ומסילות בלב להתקרב אל התורה.

To find through them ways and paths in the heart to approach Torah.

Mitzvot cultivate inner receptivity.

כדכתיב עץ חיים היא למחזיקים בה.

As it is written: “It is a tree of life to those who hold it.”

Clinging to Torah gives life.

ועל ידי התפילין יכולין להתחזק ולדבוק בתורה.

Through tefillin one strengthens and cleaves to Torah.

Tefillin intensify the bond.

ובוודאי אלה הפרשיות ... מתחדשין ממש בכל יום.

These passages truly renew themselves every day.

Divine instruction is daily and alive.

אבל האדם צריך להכין עצמו לקבל אלה הדברים.

A person must prepare themselves to receive these matters.

Revelation requires readiness.

וע"ז כתיב ושמרת כו' החוקה.

Thus it is written: “You shall guard the statute.”

Guarding refers to inner receptivity.

פי' החקיקות ורשימות שהקב"ה חקק באיש ישראל.

Meaning the engravings and markings God engraved in every Jew.

There are innate spiritual impressions.

וזו החקיקה צריכין לשמור בכל יום.

This engraving must be guarded daily.

Spiritual identity requires maintenance.

מימים ימימה.

Day after day.

The process is continuous.

ואלה הפרשיות צריכין לקיים בכל יום.

These passages must be fulfilled daily.

Tefillin’s messages renew constantly.

במעשה התפילין.

In the act of tefillin.

Through physical performance.

ובדיבור ומחשבה בקריאת שמע.

And in speech and thought during the Shema.
